AutoCAD is not included in the list of free softwares. With the versatile features it has to offer, AutoCAD is a high priced software.

The simplicity and the variety of professional features offered by the Adobe Illustrator have made it extremely popular. Artists, poster designers and website designers are some of the professionals that make frequent use of the Adobe Illustrator. The Adobe Illustrator comes cheaper than AutoCAD.
The choice of drawing softwares is dependent upon the requirements of a person. A student working on graphic assignments would definitely look for something free rather than pay hundreds of dollars in registration fees for a software whose full features may not be utilized at all. On the other hand, professionals such as engineers and doctors require specialized software that is equipped with the tools they require to create detailed designs. Free open source software would certainly not meet their requirements.
